I've fallen off the Paleo Diet wagon a few times, but it taught me a lesson. I realized that although I was eating Paleo to get healthy and stay fit, I still needed to treat myself to the bad stuff every once in a while. Now I have a couple days a month that I designate as my cheat days and I can have the bad food in moderation.

Maybe my wife and I will have a pizza night and I'll have a couple beers and then it's right back to Paleo. Don't let it discourage you, just find a way to turn it into a positive. Doesn't beer start with all natural ingredients anyways? LOL

Re: I Have Been Slipping

I think it happens to the best of us. I've gone through similar circumstances where it seems that the only options available are non paleo foods. Consuming them often brings on bouts of guilt/queasiness followed by a realization that I am doing the right thing by feeding myself all natural foods. Please keep up the good work. I know exactly how you feel.

Re: 10 Things I Have Noticed From Losing Weight on the Paleo Diet

i had to go to the next notch smaller on my belt, with very little exercise...
the interesting thing is my waist is smaller but my weight is the same..

Re: 10 Things I Have Noticed From Losing Weight on the Paleo Diet

LOL!
You raise a great point. An already cooked chicken is great convenient; but an uncooked chicken can perhaps be made more use of. Soup, stocks, internal organs maybe? Lots of stuff to work with.

Re: Whole Chickens Make Paleo a Breeze

Your kidding me!

I just purchased a whole chicken for the first time in my life yesterday. In about 2 hours my mother and I will be preparing it to pop in the oven.

The leftovers will be used for a soup with a fair amount of dill.

I agree 100% that whole chickens are easy paleo if you will. A true pastured, organic chicken is best of course :)

Unbelievable timing with the post. I'll be retweeting and facebooking this post!

Re: Whole Chickens Make Paleo a Breeze

I completely agree. I typically prepare one whole chicken per week. It makes a great meal and is always tasty, no matter the time of day.

Re: Dinner Last Night: Rockfish Topped With Crab Imperial and Roasted Vegetables

The meal looks very tasty!

Re: Dinner Last Night: Rockfish Topped With Crab Imperial and Roasted Vegetables

Looks tasty!

I was afraid of seafood for the first 20 years of my life. Then I decided to be a little more open minded.... I now love seafood! Copper Canyon Grill sounds like my kind of restaurant :)

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Losing 25 Pounds Makes You A Better Athlete!

Great post. It is certainly true that the more lean body mass you have, the better you will perform as an athlete. Unless of course you are a linemen in the NFL. No, wait...

A New England linemen that weighed 300 lbs. had only 8% body fat. He consumes a Paleo diet! I read the article from Marks blog about a week ago. It was very interesting.

But, yes, burning excessive fat, thus losing wait and gaining muscle will allow you to perform better without a doubt!

Re: Dinner Tonight: Chicken Sausage and Broccoli

approved
